Consultation Visit

Morning Star provides free consultation visits with women who are trying to decide whether Morning Star Midwifery & Women’s Health is a good fit for them. These visits provide women and their families a chance to meet the provider and ask any specific questions that they may have surrounding homebirth and the care they will receive. We find these visits to be very informative for women and helpful with decision making.
Morning Star Midwifery and Women's Health - Prenatal Care

Initial Visit

The initial visit with Morning Star is extensive and includes a thorough review of your health history and a comprehensive physical exam to establish a baseline for your health. These visits also include initial prenatal/pregnancy labs (if you are pregnant). This visit is generally 60-90 minutes in length. Additionally, we encourage you to discuss questions, concerns, desires, etc. that you may have with your provider. The in-depth nature of this visit aids us in creating a quality, individualized plan of care specific to you. Follow-up appointments are also scheduled at this time.

Rescheduling & Cancellation

Morning Star Midwifery & Women's Health does our best to accommodate both client and staff schedules. We do request that our clients adhere to their allotted appointment time as this helps us ensure we meet the needs of all our clientele and staff. We understand that unexpected events occur, but otherwise request advance notice of 24 hours to reschedule or cancel appointments.

Benefits & Pricing

Pricing

It is important to budget approximately 7,000-7,500 dollars for the total cost of care. Care includes the following: prenatal visits, labor and birth, postpartum & newborn home visits, labs, ultrasounds, newborn screenings, birth certificates, etc. While this fee can seem expensive, homebirth typically costs much less than a vaginal birth in the hospital setting. For a complete breakdown of pricing please contact Morning Star Midwifery & Women’s Health.

Benefits

Morning Star Midwifery & Women’s Health does accept Christian cost share programs. Many private insurance companies do not contract with midwives for homebirth services, so Morning Star is unable to submit claims to your insurance company. However, upon completion of your care with us, we are able to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement purposes. Every insurance policy is different, so we are unable to say if your insurance will provide reimbursement or what level of reimbursement you will receive.
